What are Eligibility criteria for Investments in Mutual Funds?

The following  are eligible and can  apply for subscription to the Units of the Scheme's of Mutual Fund (subject, wherever relevant, to purchase of units of mutual funds being permitted and duly authorized under their respective constitutions, charter documents, corporate / other authorizations and relevant statutory provisions etc)  

  1. Resident Indian adults  either singly or jointly
  2. Minors through parent / legal guardian
  3. Non-resident Indians (NRIs)/ Persons of Indian Origin on full repatriation basis (subject to RBI approval, if required) or on non-repatriation basis.Religious and Charitable Trusts, Wakfs or endowments of private trusts (subject to receipt of necessary approvals as required) and Private Trusts authorized to invest in mutual fund schemes under their trust deeds
  4. Partnership Firms
  5. Karta of Hindu Undivided Family (HUF)
  6. Banks (including Co-operative Banks and Regional Rural Banks) & Financial Institutions
  7. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) registered with SEBI on full repatriation basis (subject to RBI approval, if required)  
  8. Companies, bodies corporate, public sector undertakings, association of  persons or bodies of individuals and societies registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (so long as the purchase of units is permitted under the respective constitutions)
  9. Army, Air Force, Navy and other Para-military funds and eligible institutions
  10. Scientific and Industrial Research Organizations
  11. Provident / Pension / Gratuity and such other Funds as and when permitted to invest
  12. International Multilateral Agencies approved by the Government of India / RBI
  13. Trustees, AMC or Sponsor or their associates (if eligible and permitted under   prevailing laws), may subscribe to the Units under the Scheme.  
  14. Non-resident Indians / Persons of Indian Origin residing abroad on full (NRIs) repatriation basis (subject to RBI approval,  required)
  15. Trustees and their associates (being individuals)
  16. Minor through parent / lawful guardian
  17. Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) (through Karta or otherwise)
  18. Indian resident adult individuals either singly or jointly (not  exceeding  three)
